Dear {!firstname}:

Welcome to Your WEBSITE LAW ALERT by Chip Cooper and DigiContracts.com

Chip's Commentary:

Please accept my best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2010. Many of us have been challenged in 2009. I hope you experience a renewed sense of purpose and optimism as you look forward to the new year.

I think Peggy Noonan hit the right note in her article "Look Ahead With Stoicism - and Optimism". We're at the clean start of a new decade. "... about the optimism... You never know, things get better, begin with good cheer, maintain your equilibrium, don't lose your peace. "

How to Write an FTC Guides Disclosure Policy

Recently, I've published 3 articles regarding the FTC Guides that went into effect on December 1, 2009. These articles discuss the applicability of the FTC Guides to advertisers and endorsers. In a nutshell, if you're classified as an "endorser" by the Guides, you're required to disclose your "material connections" with your advertisers. If you missed any of these articles, click here.

The next big questions are:

  • how to actually disclose these "material connections",
  • what are the elements of an FTC Guides Disclosure Policy, and
  • how to write one?

For basic information on how to write an FTC Guides Disclosure Policy, read my article: How to Write an FTC Guides Disclosure Policy.

Comments From Digicontracts.com:

For more detailed information - including forms and examples on how to write an FTC Guides Disclosure Policy - purchase my new e-book, FTC Guides How to Comply - Legally.

I've tried to simplify the process with every-day language, complete with legal forms and sample Disclosure Policies which are easy to use and adapt, in a very inexpensive and practical e-book format that's available for immediate download from my DigiContracts.com site.

The e-book is a FREE update for subscribers of the following:

If you're classifed as an "advertiser" by the Guides, you've got the obligation to "provide guidance and training" to your endorsers to help them understand their legal obligations under the Guides. One very effective way to take a big step toward discharging this obligation would be to provide a free copy of the e-book to your affiliates, resellers, and other endorsers. All you'd have to do would be to email a link to my download URL. I'm happy to consider discounts for bulk purchases. If you're interested, email me at chip@digicontracts.com.

Regards,
