Dear {!firstname}:

Welcome to Your WEBSITE LAW ALERT by Chip Cooper and DigiContracts.com

Chip's Commentary:

We're seeing a noticeable uptick in entrepreneurial activity in our information technology and Internet law practice.

It started a few months ago. Small technology businesses doing partnering deals. New business start-ups. New ecommerce websites.

They're swimming upstream, and they're swimming hard.

We appreciate their entrepreneurial spirit... and wish them well on their journey.

Do You Own Your Website?

I've had a few discussions with clients recently about website ownership.

These discussions usually arise in two situations:

  • during the negotiation of a website development agreement, or
  • when the webmaster discovers a real Gotcha - meaning that what he/she assumed was owned was not in fact owned.

I've decided to write a series of articles to clear up some common misconceptions about website ownership - and to point out how to avoid some of the Gotcha's.

Read the 1st in the series entitled Do You Own Your SaaS Website? Part 1: 5 Copyright Myths Debunked .

Comments From Digicontracts.com:

Important announcement: Yermo Lamers and the folks at formvista.com have launched formVista, a website management software solution designed specifically for small to medium-sized businesses.

formVista allows webmasters and website developers to easily manage website content and web pages... plus it goes beyond the typical content management solutions by creating an automated sales funnel.

Why are we announcing the formVista launch? It's because formVista.com is one of our developer affiliates that fully supports our MyLegalFirewall Affiliate Developer API program.

When subscribers draft their website legal compliance documents online, our API delivers the documents and inserts them into the formVista-managed website.

What's really cool is that document delivery and insertion happens seamlessly and automatically with a single click... without any intervention by the folks at formvista.com.

For more information about formVista, contact Yermo Lamers at formvista.com .

Regards,
