Dear {!firstname}:

Welcome to Your WEBSITE LAW ALERT by Chip Cooper and DigiContracts.com

Chip's Commentary:

Hope you had a great Easter weekend.

Spring has definitely sprung on Amelia Island. It's beach weather... with moderate temps and low humidity.

There are 4 distinct seasons in north Florida; however, winter is very short and relatively mild... just enough of a break so that you really appreciate spring.

SaaS And Ecommerce Sites Have Until May 1 to Implement Identity Theft Policies

In October 2008, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it was delaying enforcement of the so-called "Red Flags" identity theft Rule until May 1, 2009. You may have read my Red Flags article last October.

What's new is that on March 20, the FTC published new guidelines that significantly expanded the coverage of the Red Flags Rule. The result is that most SaaS and ecommerce sites will be covered by the Rule. If you fall into this category, you'll face substantial liability if you don't comply.

With the deadline fast approaching, now's the time to comply if you're covered by the Rule. To determine if you're covered, read my article that discusses the March 20 FTC Guidelines entitled SaaS And Ecommerce Sites -- Don't Miss The May 1, 2009 Deadline.

We've added a Website Red Flag Identity Theft Policy to our site to assist you with compliance. It's available for purchase as a single document, or as part of the 3 groups listed on the page.

Comments From Digicontracts.com:

We recently re-designed our Digicontracts.com site to improve navigation. You're invited to check it out.

One thing you may notice is that the name of our website legal compliance service has been changed -- from MySiteDocs to MyLegalFirewall. Only the name has been changed, so if you've subscribed under the prior name, you'll still see it listed under the new name when you login.

Regards,
