Dear {!firstname}:

Welcome to Your WEBSITE LAW ALERT by Chip Cooper and DigiContracts.com

Chip's Commentary:

The holidays are over, and we're already into '09. What will it bring?

I can't remember entering into a new year with so much uncertainty. Right now, the economy is on hold. Hopefully, with the new administration's initiatives, the economy will stabilize and start to move again.

And hopefully, we'll be able to look back next year at this time and be surprised... pleasantly.

Your New Year's 10 Point Legal Check-Up:

Most small online businesses are not aware of the significant growth in legal regulation of websites that's occurred in the last couple of years. And that's really surprising to me... I'm so immersed in it; I can see the real threat of legal liability.

On second thought, you're so immersed in managing and growing your online business (or planning your launch) that you haven't had the time or bandwidth to understand your gradual transition to a highly regulated business. And that brings to mind the purpose of this newsletter -- to keep you informed of the latest legal developments that directly affect you.

If you haven't already made a New Year's resolution to give your site a legal check-up, you should make one right now. Getting your website's legal affairs in order should be a high priority, and now is a great time to start.

The primary reason to get your website's legal affairs in order, of course, is that you face a substantial exposure to liability, and a good legal compliance program will help you manage it. Believe me... it's real.

Another reason is that your prospects are becoming more Internet savvy... and a site that's not legally compliant is not going to be trusted.

I've written an article that boils down your New Year's legal check-up to a 10 point checklist. To read this article, click here. Check out my comments below for a cost-effective change to our site that may assist you with any remedial action you may require.

Comments From Digicontracts.com:

During the holidays, we changed our website legal compliance offering to make it more cost-effective for you.

A unique feature of our service has always been a "which documents" process that determines exactly which website documents you really need. We offered this feature together with a bundle of 8 documents only for a single subscription fee. One concern was... what if you only need a small subsection of the 8-document bundle... why purchase the whole enchilada?

We've now subdivided the 8-document bundle into 3 separate subscription offerings... so can now purchase only what your site really needs.
