Dear {!firstname}:

Welcome to Your WEBSITE LAW ALERT by Chip Cooper and DigiContracts.com

Chip's Commentary:

Now that it's substantially over, I'd like to share a little about a very difficult personal ordeal our family has been going through since last Thanksgiving.

Just before Thanksgiving, 2007, we learned that our daughter Amy had breast cancer. No matter how much you prepare yourself for this news from the day of the biopsy, you can never be prepared for receiving the news that the lab report indicates cancer.

There's no way I can describe the level of difficulty of this ordeal that we have all gone through with Amy. It even took a while to be able to work the word "cancer" into our vocabulary.

Now, after seemingly endless rounds of debilitating chemotherapy, and a double mastectomy, we finally have a good report -- the surgery went very well, and the probability of recurrence is relatively low.

We're all so thankful for the outcome, and so very proud of Amy and her courageous fight. My heart goes out to any woman who has to face this ordeal -- they all deserve the equivalent of a Congressional Medal of Honor. To learn more, click here

Recent Developments On The Litigation Front:

Two recent cases involving the classified ad sites Roommates.com and Craigslist.com, show the judicial development of a very important shield from liability provided to interactive websites by the Communications Decency Act of 1996 know as "Section 230".

Section 230 was intended to shield interactive sites from illegal postings of their visitors. If you allow (or contemplate allowing) users to post to your site, such with forums, blogs, and classified ads, Section 230 is very important. For a discussion of the current limits to the Section 230 liability shield, click here.

Comments From Digicontracts.com:

As you may have noticed if you've visited the site recently, we continue to tinker with our home page, Special Report, and interior pages of the site.

Hopefully sooner than later, Tom Shivers of capturecommerce.com will complete his SEO work, and we'll settle it down for a while.

Regards,
