Dear {!firstname}: Welcome to Your WEBSITE LAW ALERT by Chip Cooper and DigiContracts.com
The transition to the new newsletter list is complete. Thanks for your patience with the additional email notifications. The Recent Developments On The Litigation Front section below doesn't deal with litigation directly, but it does deal with it indirectly because the failure of some of the points discussed below could result in litigation. Read it and see if your site measures up. |

In my website law practice, the question I'm asked the most is... "what documents and other legal mumbo jumbo do I need on my site" for website legal compliance? This question is addressed in Comments From Digicontracts.com below. The question I'm asked the least is... "what design elements should I consider when developing my site"? That's because very few website designers or ecommerce website operators think about legal compliance until their site is almost ready to go live. However, this is the question that really should be asked as you begin planning for the design and development of your website. I was actually asked this question recently, and I'd like to share my answer in the form of an article on the topic. Read it here. |

If you've visited digicontracts.com in the last week or so, you've noticed that we've added 16 articles and we've posted the last newsletter on a newsletter archive page. All of this material is linked from each page. We did not archive the newsletters from the last year and a half. Instead, these newsletters were converted to the 16 articles that are posted. From now on, we'll post all new articles and archive all newsletters... so, if you need to refer back to this material, it'll be there for you. For answers to the question regarding "what documents do I need...", refer to pages 9-12 of my Special Report 12 SURE-FIRE Ways Your Website Can Get You Sued. It's FREE, so if you don't have it, download it now here. This link will remain active only through the end of this week. In addition, our Website Compliance Library provides a new document entitled "Drafting Instructions For Website Documents". All you have to do is answer a few key questions, and ContractMaker drafts a document that gives you the answers. Regards,
